Jose Morinho Chelsea Potential Starting Eleven 4-2-3-1 Formation
Here we look at the potential starting team could be in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Goalkeeper: Petr Cech
The Czech Republic international is thought-of as one of the best goalkeepers in the world and despite the manager merry-go-round at Stamford Bridge, he has consistently produced for the Blues. Cech is expected to retain his place under Jose Mourinho.
Right-back: Branislav Ivanovic
The versatile defender has been excellent for the Blues in recent years and is almost an ever present in the Chelsea side, whether at right or centre back. He can also pop up with precious goals from time to time.
Centre-backs: John Terry and Gary Cahill
The England defenders should pair up in the heart of Chelsea's defence this season after reports claim that Mourinho doesn't like the way David Luiz plays. Captain Terry is expected to play more often this season after an injury hit campaign in 2012-13.
Left-back: Fabio Coentrao
Coentrao has missed the first few days of pre-season and he 28-year-old Portuguese international could link up with countryman Mourinho at the Bridge to provide competition and perhaps take the place of the ageing Ashley Cole.
Central midfield: Ramires and Marco van Ginkel
Marco van Ginkel could be the answer to Chelsea's recent problems at defensive midfield and could form a formidable partnership with Brazilian Ramires.
Left-wing: Eden Hazard
The Belgian settled in nicely in his first season in London but even more is expected of Hazard this season under Mourinho.
Attacking midfield: Oscar
After a decent first campaign in London, the Brazilian international is expected to improve this season and with Mourinho's man management skills, many are predicting a fantastic season for Oscar.
Right-wing: Juan Mata
Mata has been voted Chelsea's Player of the season two years running now and once again is expected to continue were he left off and flourish under Mourinho.
Striker: Wayne Rooney
Chelsea are still favourites to land Rooney from Manchester United after the England International said that he was 'angry and confused'. I don't think Rooney would like another season of playing second fiddle to Robin van Persie, especially with the World Cup in less than 12 months and joining Chelsea could be his best way to regain top-form.
