Big Fish for Bigger Clubs to cost £78m Suarez Deal

Luiz Suarez
Arsenal, Chelsea or Real Madrid will have come up with an overall package worth almost £80 million if they hope to prise Luis Suarez away from Liverpool before the transfer deadline this summer.
Liverpool are holding out for at least £50 million for the unsettled Uruguay international while Suarez's wage demands will result in an enormous outlay for his hypothetical suitor. According to SportsDirect News, the player will request a salary of at least £150,000-a-week over four years were he to leave Anfield, taking the total cost of the transfer for the successful club to £78 million.

Arsenal have been the most active club in pursuit of Suarez having made two formal bids for the 26-year-old - both of which were rejected by Liverpool, who maintain they harbour no interest in allowing him to leave the club. The Gunners' second bid of £40,000,001 was, in the mind of the north Londoners, enough to trigger a release clause in the contract of the player but, as it transpired, this was not the case. Liverpool have since informed Arsenal that Suarez would not be sold to a direct Premier League rival, which would also appear to rule out a potential transfer to Chelsea.
Jose Mourinho is reported to have identified Suarez as a potential acquisition should Chelsea miss out on Wayne Rooney, although no formal approach is thought to have been made for the Uruguayan.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, may be encouraged to ramp up their chase for Suarez following the sale of Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli for £31 million.
