Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has labelled Real Madrid's offer of around £87million for Tottenham star Gareth Bale as a joke.

Wenger also said that it makes a mockery of the Financial Fair Play rules.
Arsene wenger blast the big-spending clubs and revealed that he hopes that UEFA do something bigger and better to try and prevent clubs from spending hundreds of millions every season.

The likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco are all spending massive amounts on players every summer and now Madrid's potential £87million for gareth bale bid has made Wenger furious at the current financial power in the game.
The FFP's main aim was to cut the amount club's spent on transfer fees, but with several clubs already spending over £100million, Wenger doesn't know what impact the system will have on transfer dealings.
Wenger said to reporters: "It’s quite amazing in the year, when financial fair play comes in, world football goes completely crazy. It makes a joke of it.
"You wonder what kind of impact and effect FFP has on the football world. It looks like it has made everybody worse than before."
The Frenchman, who is currently under pressure by his own fans to spend money, has admitted that the club have earned their money the right way and have worked by their morales and policies.

He said: "The money we have is down to the quality of our work down the years. Just spending is not a quality, buying the right players is.
If you say we are under pressure to spend, yes we are, but I am more under pressure to spend the right way.
Despite Bale strengthening Spurs and putting threat to Arsenal's Champions League future, Wenger also insisted that he hopes the Welshman stays in the Premier League.
It’s important the Premier League keep the best players," he said. It’s never good to lose a big player, especially as he is a British player.
