Bayern Munich have been thwarted in their attempts to sign Chelsea defender David Luiz, as the Blues boss Jose Mourinho is still not keen on selling him,
The European champions manager Pep Guardiola is intent on buying the Brazilian defender, and it was reported that an offer of £34.5m was being prepared to lure him to the Allianz Arena.

Barcelona have also shown an interest in the 26-year-old, who signed for Chelsea in 2011 from Benfica in a deal worth £21.5m. He was also reported to be included in an offer the west London club had made for Wayne Rooney, along with his team-mate Juan Mata, but they were quick to deny the rumour.
When asked previously about the possibility of selling either player, Mourinho's response was: "No chance. No chance.
I am not going to contact them based on news that is not true and they know that it is not true because I have told them they are very important for me. How can I change that two days later because of a news
Despite Bayern's interest, the Portuguese manager has not changed his stance, as he sees Luiz as an important part of his plans in defence or midfield. Luiz, who is now back in training with the Chelsea first-team after being given an extended break following the Confederations Cup, is yet to comment on the situation.
